WHY DOUG JENSON DESERVES YOUR VOTE THIS NOVEMBER
About six years ago my wife and I were awaken at 1:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning to vandalism being done to our farm west of Forest City.
As the vandals left our property I followed far behind out of their sight and called 911 on my cell phone. Doug Jenson was on duty that evening and happened to be in the Leland area and responded.
Through the help of the Winnebago Dispatcher, Deputy Jenson, and a cell phone, Jenson cut across Forest Township and intercepted the vandal's vehicle. After a short chase and help from the FCPD five young men were apprehended and taken to jail.
As a concerned citizen I purposely followed the legal process of these acts through the charges against the men to the verdict and finally to sentencing. I am pleased that they were found guilty and all our damages were repaid in full
I did not know Deputy Jenson before this incident but was very impressed by his professionalism, communication skills, and his desire to see justice served.
Winnebago County is rapidly changing with new industries, which brings new citizens and sometimes- new problems. It is important that we have a sheriff who is committed to enforcing the laws and protecting the rights of our citizens.
Most of us will never need the services of the sheriff during our lifetimes. Most of us will not be awakened in the middle of the night to vandals destroying our property, but if it happens to you, Doug Jenson is the law enforcement officer you want on your side.
